Big Spoon Co. Celebrates Pride Month
As an LGBTQ-owned business, Big Spoon Co. is a proud supporter of the community, and Pride Month serves as a reminder of our mission to promote inclusivity and diversity in Central Virginia and beyond.
For over a decade, we have supported Richmond Region Tourism’s OutRVA campaign which promotes the city and its surrounding counties as a welcoming and affirming destination for LGBTQ travelers. Since the campaign’s inception, it has garnered attention in the New York Times and brought national press coverage shining a spotlight on Richmond’s queer scene.
We also serve as the agency of record for the Richmond LGBTQ Chamber and support the organization’s mission of enriching, uplifting, and connecting the community through programming and membership activities.
Our team passionately volunteers time to community causes. Big Spoon Co.’s president Kevin Clay was a founding member of the chamber in addition to starting local news website GayRVA.com, which is now a part of RVA Mag. Partner and creative director Enrique Mendez served on the board of the chamber for many years and now currently volunteers on the committee for VA Pride. We have also organized events for VA Pride including the Scott’s Addition Pride Crawl each year.

Pride At The Market

17th St. Farmer’s Market
Join VA Pride for the second annual “Pride in the Market DJ Dance Party and Drag Show!” VA Pride in partnership with Richmond’s Parks & Recreation Department and the Shockoe Bottom Neighborhood Association will host a fun night of Divas and Dancing outside at the 17th Street Market. Food and drinks, including alcohol, may be purchased from establishments along the Market and consumed outside at the event. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased here.
