Foodie App Makes Beautiful Food Photography Simple

Credit: LINE Corporation

I just joined Snapchat and my feed is consumed with cats and food photos.  I’ve seen what you’re eating and some of you need to step up that pic game.

We’re not fooling anyone by saying it's easy for an amateur to make a food pic taken with a smartphone look appetizing.   It’s not always as simple as slapping a filter on your supper and calling it an Instagram.

The folks behind Foodie took note with their brand spankin’ new app.  It has a simple and clean user interface made exclusively for taking sugary sweet snaps.  Ooooh…

I know the struggle is real with poor lighting conditions in the most ambient of restaurants.  Foodie has solved this by turning your phone’s built-in flash into a light kit.  No longer do you have to ask your party to shine their camera light on your plate to get that perfect shadow.

And let’s be real, your dining companions are tired of you taking five minutes to take a pic.  Okay, let me be really real…my dining companions are tired of me taking five minutes to take a pic.

Photo taken with the Foodie app using my iPhone 6 Plus. Shout out to Erin in the background!

Look! — it even made my sloppy veggie burger look artisanal (delicious by the way, absolutely delicious).

With the app opening on the shutter screen and filters just a swipe away, Foodie is giving perennial favorite VSCO a run for the money.

Check it out now in the App Store for iOS here or on Google Play for Android here — and tag @bigspoonagency on Instagram with your Foodie pics — I’d love to see how you’re using our my new favorite app.
